The San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa has missed several practices recently. It was announced that he is dealing with ACL tendinitis. The 2022 Defensive Player of the Year has dealt with numerous injuries dating back to high school, where he tore his right ACL. In college, he missed time with groin and core injuries. In 2020, he tore his left ACL just two weeks into the season.
He once again tore his right ACL early last season, and now may miss more time as he deals with yet another ACL-related issue right as preseason is getting underway. This injury is only the latest in a laundry list of players currently out for the 49ers, who have already placed nine players on the PUP/IR list. Â On top of that, Head Coach Kyle Shanahan has missed time as he recovers from a near-fatal car crash.

San Francisco has earned the reputation of being one of the most injured teams year in and year out since Shanahan took over in 2017. It doesn’t look to be any different this season. As the injuries continue to pile up, speculation continues to grow surrounding the massive electrical substation located directly across the street from the 49ers’ practice fields being the source of the problem.
This was first noticed, and the theory caught fire, late last year after the team was decimated by injuries once again. New videos have come out showing just how noticeable the substation is, with the massive electrical and metal structure sitting directly over the fences of the practice field. Social media has run with this as further evidence to support the theory. This may eventually cause the 49ers to consider moving their practice facilities. If the problem continues to persist and there remains no other explanation for why they suffer so many injuries to their roster nearly every season.
