Louisville is 7-4 on the season after dropping the opener 31-7 to Syracuse on the road; they rebounded to knock off USF 20-14 in Orlando, Fla., before dropping a 35-31 decision at home to Florida State. The Cardinals beat USF 41-3 and lost to Boston College 34-33 before beating Virginia 34-17, Pittsburgh 24-10, Wake Forest 48-21, and beat James Madison. The Cardinals lost two weeks ago to Clemson and bounced back against NC State 25-10 during senior day.

Louisville Cardinals enter rivalry week ranked in the top 25 in the college football rankings. The Cards have now won six of their last seven games, a turnaround since starting the season 2-3 and losing at Boston College. Not sure anyone could have seen this coming. While rumors of Satterfield’s firing swirled earlier this season, his job is now secure. Just one last hurdle to clear later this week.
This news means that Louisville will carry a national ranking into its annual rivalry game against Kentucky for the first time since 2017. That matchup was also the last time the Cardinals knocked off the Wildcats. When Louisville was 0-3 in the ACC and coming off an inexplicable loss to Boston College, no one saw a top ranking coming.

Even without quarterback Malik Cunningham and their starting running back not being healthy, Louisville has relied on their defense to carry them to victory. Jawhar Jordan has been borderline unstoppable on both offense and special teams. They continue to look like a much better team than they did in the first month. With the season coming to a close, where will Louisville play during bowl season?
