Louisville City FC has transferred standout forward Phillip Goodrum to Lexington SC in one of the largest between two USL Championship teams in league history. Lexington acquired Goodrum for a six-figure transfer fee that includes performance-based incentives, giving the deal the potential to set a new league record for an inter-club transfer. Goodrum leaves Louisville after continuing to establish himself as one of the USL Championship’s most consistent goal scorers.
He first made his mark with Memphis 901 FC, where he scored a club-record 21 goals during the 2022 season and earned All-League First Team honors. Following a midseason move to FC Tulsa in 2023, Goodrum once again showcased his scoring ability. He finished with 17 goals in 38 appearances to become Tulsa’s leading scorer before signing with Louisville City in August 2024.

Goodrum quickly became a key piece of LouCity’s attack. He led the club with 13 goals during the 2025 season and concluded his Louisville career with 17 goals in 38 appearances, matching the total he produced during his time with FC Tulsa.
Goodrum’s became just the sixth player in club history to record a hat trick. His three-goal performance led LouCity to a 4-2 victory over Birmingham Legion FC and earned him USL Championship Player of the Month honors. Louisville City parts ways with an offensive weapon, Lexington SC adds a proven finisher.
