Miami University Closes the Season with Victory over Ohio University 68- 64

In a thrilling showdown at Millett Hall on Saturday, March 9th, Miami University’s women’s basketball team closed their season on a high note with a hard-fought victory over Ohio University, sealing the game with a final score of 68-64. The Redhawks entered the contest with determination and skill, showcasing unwavering resolve on the court. Senior guard Luu-Brown led the charge, delivering a standout performance with a career-high 20 points. Adding to the triumph, Scott contributed significantly with 15 points and 4 rebounds.

This collective effort propelled Miami to a well-deserved victory, bringing their season record to 9-20. Miami wasted no time establishing dominance, jumping to a commanding 10-3 lead within the first seven minutes of the game. With each possession, their determination became increasingly evident, culminating in a ten-point advantage highlighted by Richason’s pivotal three-point play.

The first half concluded with Miami extending their lead to 20 points, fueled by Scott’s layup. Heading into the second half with a 16-point lead, Miami continued to assert their dominance. Although the Bobcats fought tirelessly to narrow the gap, Miami maintained control, tallying 57 points in the latter half. Despite Ohio’s spirited efforts, Miami’s resolute defense, led by Scott and Tretter, stifled any potential comeback.

Ohio attempted to mount a final quarter comeback with a 5-1 run, but Miami’s stout defense quickly thwarted their momentum. The Redhawks’ assertive performance included securing 40 rebounds and forcing 21 turnovers, showcasing their disruptive defensive prowess. With this victory, Miami University concluded their season with a well-earned triumph, capping off a challenging campaign with a memorable win over Ohio University.
