After the drama that started the WNBA season with Caitlin Clark, we have finally gotten down to the x’s and o’s and the game of basketball. The 2024 WNBA season has become a battleground for rookies breaking records. This season has been powered by Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. These two were the biggest stars in college basketball. With each game they play, Reese and Clark are rewriting the history books. Both of the young ladies have also made the WNBA All-Star game.
Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky broke Candace Parker’s record from the 2009-2010 seasons with 13 straight double doubles. It showcases her consistency and impact on the court. In a match up against the Seattle Storm, Reese went 8-of-13 shooting from the field, 2-of-2 from three, and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. Her play in the crucial seconds, sealed an 88-84 victory. Reese thus far is averaging 14 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal a game.

Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever set a record herself. Clark became the first rookie in WNBA history to have a triple-double. Her performance against the New York Liberty saw her put up 19 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds. She led the Fever to an 83-78 comeback. This triple-double showed Clark’s versatility. She’s more than just a shooter. Clark thus far is averaging 16 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, a steal and a block.
