Despite the change in scenery, he showcased his tenacity on the field, culminating in 17 total tackles and 1.5 sacks during his debut season with CU in 2023. However, these numbers paled in comparison to his standout performance in 2022 with the Seminoles, where Mclendon dominated with 37 total tackles, including 17 solo tackles and 20 assisted, alongside an impressive 3.5 sacks. The football prowess of Mclendon extended beyond a single standout season.

His tenure with Florida State boasted consistent contributions, with the 2021 season seeing him tally 16 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, and even forcing a pivotal fumble. Such stellar performances solidified Mclendon’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line. Despite his undeniable talent, Mclendon faced a setback when he did not receive an invitation to the prestigious NFL combine.

Nevertheless, he refused to be deterred, seizing the opportunity to showcase his skills at a solid pro day. Impressively, Mclendon posted impressive metrics, including a 4.97 40-yard dash, alongside a remarkable 10-foot broad jump and a soaring 35-inch vertical leap. Such feats did not go unnoticed, with Brian Howell of the Daily Camera noting that Mclendon’s results would have ranked within the top 10 at his position. Yet, despite his athletic prowess and notable achievements, Mclendon finds himself absent from current mock drafts.

Undeterred, he remains steadfast in his pursuit of a professional football career, drawing upon his impressive track record with Florida State and his standout pro day performance with Colorado. As the anticipation builds, Mclendon now stands at the precipice of uncertainty, awaiting the fateful call that could catapult him into the realm of professional football. With unwavering determination and a relentless drive for success, he eagerly anticipates the opportunity to prove his worth and secure a coveted spot in an NFL training camp as an undrafted free agent.
