The 49ers have built a foundation of winning behind head coach Kyle Shanahan. Brock Purdy, who is 24, has shown he can lead a time, and the 49ers were just a few mistakes away from a Super Bowl. There isn’t many pressing offseason needs for San Francisco. They have been to the Super Bowl or NFC Championship game the last four seasons. But with upgrades around the league, the Super Bowl window is now. Purdy is still on his rookie deal, and a core of star players still under contract.

They must take advantage before Purdy’s new contract. Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Arik Armstead, Fred Warner, Charvarius Ward, Trent Williams, Javon Hargrave, Nick Bosa, George Kittle, and Aiyuk are projected for a $210 million cap hit. That’s why it’s important to win now, especially with two key figures possible on the way out.Â
Chase Young’s stint in San Francisco has been up-and-down, but the edge rusher has high upside. With a full offseason with the team, he could reach his ceiling. Losing him would cost the 49ers the 2024 third-round pick they gave up for him. Young had a strong game in the Super Bowl. Him and Nick Bosa could be a nightmare for teams. Â

Additionally, wide receiver Jauan Jennings emerges as another priority for the 49ers in free agency. His reliability in critical situations adds value. But teams will be pushing hard to sign him. The San Francisco 49ers find themselves at a pivotal moment. The roster is brimming with talent. The organization must navigate free agency, the draft, and maximize their Super Bowl aspirations.
