The Kansas City Chiefs traded star wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five future draft picks. The Chiefs received a first-round pick (No.29 overall), a second-round pick selection (No. 50 overall), and a fourth-round choice in 2022, plus fourth- and sixth-round picks in 2023. Since the off-season started, this has been the most player movement in recent memory. Players such as Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, Khalil Mack, Devonte Adams have switched teams.

Hill has been one of the best players since entering the NFL in 2016. Over his career, Hill has been known for his world-class speed. Hill had one-year left on his current deal for over $18 million. As the two parties were negotiating, a blockbuster transaction changed everything. Devonte Adams signed a five-year contract worth $141.25. This contract reset the market. Chiefs were unwilling to make Hill the highest-paid receiver at that cost. Kansas City granted Hill’s agent permission to seek a trade. The Dolphins pounced and signed Hill to a four-year $120 million contract. Hill secured his spot as the highest-paid playmaker.

Hill came into the NFL known for his special team’s ability. Now, Hill has transitioned into a great receiver. Alongside Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and that high-powered Chiefs offense. Hill played a big part in their success. Tyreek Hill has been one of the most productive players for years now. Since he has been in the NFL, he has over 6,000 receiving yards and fifty-six career touchdowns.

Tyreek Hill is going to a Miami Dolphins team who have talent. He is going to make an immediate impact on their offense. He will help Tua Tagovailoa so much, and may be is the missing piece they need. Tua has always been known for his deadly accurate-passing ability. Through his second NFL season in 2021, the Miami signal caller completed 67.8 percent of his passes for a No. 4 ranking in the league — sitting just behind Joe Burrow, Aaron Rodgers, and Kyler Murray. Patrick Mahomes ranked No. 7 on that list with a 67.3 completion percentage. Tua’s deep ball game has come under fire. Hill will allow the QB to expand the passing game with the deep threat.

“Tua is probably one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the NFL,” Hill said. “Just his ball placement, getting us the ball in space, perfect placement and us utilizing our speed.”

Although Hill got his big payday, the Dolphins have talent that he will be playing alongside. Jaylen Waddle, Cedrick Wilson, Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert, Terron Armstead all bring something to the table. Hill will bring Super Bowl experience to this young Dolphins team that is ready to take the next step. Dolphins are looking to mirror the Chiefs City and be a team that plays for championships every year.

They change the culture and the organization they are around every day. Tyreek Hill will also have an impact on Jaylen Waddle. He has someone that can mentor him and take pressure off him.
