This Saturday, the SEC is in for a plethora of games; 7 teams are set to host conference opponents. Hopefully, these games turn out to be just as exciting as last week’s.
Texas at Tennessee
Two ranked opponents, #1 Texas and #14 Tennessee, are set to face off as the Longhorns travel to Knoxville. The Longhorns proved they deserved the 1 slot, taking it from Ohio State in their home victory. Now, they’ll be on the road, and Tennessee is going to have to step up big time in order to slow down Arch Manning and the Texas offense.
Oklahoma at Georgia
The Sooners takes on a big game as they travel to face the Bulldogs. Oklahoma remains unranked, but Kentucky proved last week against A&M that might not mean much. Gunner Stockton has done nothing but show out this season, proving himself to be a top quarterback in the SEC. They walked over Arkansas last week for their SEC opener, and they hope to do it again, this time in front of their home crowd.
Ole Miss at Florida
Florida resides as one of the best offenses in the nation, remaining in the top five for yards, yards/play, touchdowns and yards/game. Both teams are coming off a high from last week. Ole Miss knocked down Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers, and Florida gave Auburn their first loss. It seems this game may just come down to the better defense, as both offenses are hot and tough to beat. Only one team can finish Week 4 undefeated.
Vanderbilt at Auburn
Both offenses have struggled to put up the large numbers their SEC opponents have. However, Vanderbilt seemed to have found a good groove to play in, with their last two games remaining close in scoring. However, that could mean bad news as they head to Auburn. A team fired up after a loss at home to the Gators, they won’t be interested in being handed back-to-back losses.
South Carolina at Alabama
Playing in Tuscaloosa isn’t for the weak, as South Carolina will face one of their toughest challenges in the season. Keelon Russell remains hot, with over 300 passing yards last week in their defeat of Florida State University. While Ryan Coleman-Williams is reminding people why he had the spotlight on him his freshman season, averaging 20 yards per catch. This Alabama team is dangerous, and South Carolina is going to have to be on their best game to compete.
Texas A&M at LSU
Both coming off bad losses and upsets, these teams aren’t going to want to see two losses in a row. LSU struggled immensely in the first half against Ole Miss. They only put up one touchdown. Pete Golding just gave Jim Fisher everything he needed to stop Sam Leavitt and Lane Kiffin’s hot offense. The Tigers also struggled to contain Trinidad Chambliss, whose game mirrors that of Marcel Reed. LSU will have to step up their game big time from last week if they want to walk away with a victory in Death Valley.
Missouri at Mississippi State
Mississippi State has come out making a statement this season that they will be top fighters in the SEC. Their offense is hot, with Kamario Taylor on track to surpass 1,000 yards in only 4 weeks. Missouri is going to have a nightmare on their hands, with a run game equally as dangerous. Missouri walks in undefeated as well, but without an SEC win. Mississippi State, ranked below them in the Top 25, appears to be the favorites one day out.
