Patrick Mahomes, Jonathon Cooper & Cameron Dicker Named Week 6 AFC Players of the Week

NEW YORK — Oct. 15, 2025 — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper and Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 6 (October 9, 12-13).

OFFENSE: QB PATRICK MAHOMES, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

  • Mahomes completed 22 of 30 pass attempts (73.3 percent) for 257 yards and totaled four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing) and no interceptions with a 132.2 passer rating in Kansas City’s 30-17 victory over Detroit on Sunday Night Football. It marked the only four touchdown performance in Week 6.
  • This is the 12th career Player of the Week award for Mahomes and his second this season:
    • 2018: Weeks 1-2
    • 2019: Week 2
    • 2020: Weeks 3, 8
    • 2021: Weeks 1, 10
    • 2022: Weeks 1, 4
    • 2023: Week 12
    • 2025: Weeks 4, 6
  • Mahomes surpasses Russell Wilson for the fourth-most Player of the Week awards among active quarterbacks, trailing only Aaron Rodgers (19 times), Josh Allen (16) and Lamar Jackson (13).

DEFENSE: LB JONATHON COOPER, DENVER BRONCOS

  • Cooper recorded five tackles, two sacks and a tackle for loss as the Broncos totaled nine sacks in their 13-11 victory over the Jets in London. He was the only AFC linebacker with five tackles and two sacks in Week 6.
  • This is Cooper’s first-career Defensive Player of the Week award and he becomes the fourth Broncos linebacker to earn the honor in the past 10 seasons (2016-25), joining Von Miller (Week 2, 2016 and Week 11, 2018), Cody Barton (Week 7, 2024) and Nik Bonitto (Week 5, 2025).
  • Cooper becomes the fourth former Ohio State linebacker to win Defensive Player of the Week, joining Pepper Johnson (twice), Chris Spielman (twice) and Mike Vrabel.

SPECIAL TEAMS: K CAMERON DICKER, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

  • Dicker converted on all five of his field goal attempts – from 35, 31, 29, 35 and a game-winning 35-yarder – as well as both of his point-after attempts in the Chargers’ 29-27 win over the Dolphins. His 17 points scored tied for the most points by a kicker in a game this season and most in Week 6.
  • This is Dicker’s fifth-career Player of the Week award and fourth as a Charger, the second-most Special Teams Player of the Week awards by a Chargers kicker, trailing only John Carney (eight times).
    • 2022: Week 5 (Eagles), 9 (Chargers)
    • 2024: Weeks 17-18
    • 2025: Week 6
  • Dicker joins Justin Tucker (11 times) and Phil Dawson (eight) as the only former Texas players to win Special Teams Player of the Week at least five times.
