Bo Nix concluded an impressive college career by leading the Oregon Ducks to a decisive victory against the Liberty Flames. Despite Liberty scoring on the first possession and holding Oregon scoreless through the first quarter, the Ducks rallied, scoring 45 unanswered points to highlight the evident mismatch in the game. Nix completed 28 of 35 passes for 363 yards and threw five touchdowns.
This outstanding performance allowed Nix to surpass Mac Jones’ NCAA record for completion percentage in a season. He also dethroned Marcus Mariota as Oregon’s single-season record holder for touchdowns and passing yards. Nix completed 14 consecutive passes during one stretch, and all five touchdowns were distributed to different Oregon receivers.

Following a final play, a simple handoff to Bucky Irving, Bo Nix bid farewell to both the game and his illustrious five-year college career amid a standing ovation from the Oregon faithful. Reflecting on his time in college football, Nix remarked, “It’s been a great career. It’s been a lot of ups and downs. And there’s been some great adversity too, that I’ve been able to learn from. I wouldn’t be here without another year. Every step has been another journey, and I wouldn’t have traded anything.”

NFL-bound running back Bucky Irving and wide receiver Tez Johnson also made significant contributions. Irving amassed 117 yards on 14 carries with a touchdown, while Johnson recorded 11 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown. The Oregon defense played a crucial role by limiting Liberty, the nation’s top rushing team, to a season-low 168 yards on 28 carries. After an initial touchdown drive, the Flames gained only 219 yards over 46 plays, with two of their final eight possessions resulting in turnovers.
