From the opening kickoff, ASU seemed firmly in control. The Sun Devils executed the game plan, effectively moving the ball and making stops on defense. On the other hand, Oklahoma State struggled to gain momentum, particularly in the rushing department, where they failed to amass a single yard during the first half. Despite OSU’s offensive struggles, they managed to stay the course and through intermittent flashes of brilliance in their passing game. Their inability to maintain consistency in their aerial attack left them trailing 15-10 at halftime.

The script was flipped in the second half. Oklahoma State offense suddenly found their motion. They moved the ball up and down the field, putting pressure on the Sun Devils defense. Although ASU’s defense managed to secure some stops, their offense was unable to repeat the success of the opening half.
