While Baylor concentrated on containing big man Ryan Kalkbrenner, Nembhard and the Bluejays attacked from the outside. After going 3-for-20 in the first round against North Carolina State, they shot 45.8% from 3-point range. They also shot 22 of 22 from the free throw line, with Nembhard going 10 for 10.

The Bluejays (23-12) will face 15th-seeded Princeton in the NCAA Tournament on Friday in Louisville, Kentucky. Princeton advanced to the South Region semifinals after defeating Arizona and Missouri. For Baylor (23-11), LJ Cryer finished with 30 points. The Bears also lost in the second round for the second year in a row now after winning the championship in 2021.

Keyonte George, the Big 12’s top rookie, managed just seven points, which is significantly less than his 15.6 average. If George decides to depart after this season, he could be selected in the lottery of the 2023 NBA Draft.
