MUNICH, GERMANY — Dec. 10, 2025 — The National Football League today announced it will return to Munich, Germany in 2026 and 2028 to play regular season games, as part of a multi-year partnership with the City of Munich and FC Bayern Munich.

The games will be played at the FC Bayern Munich Stadium, which has previously hosted NFL regular season games in 2022 and 2024.

Germany is a key market for the NFL globally, with more than 20 million fans of the game, the largest fanbase in Europe. In addition to the regular season games, the NFL will work with the City of Munich across their major sports development program to grow and develop flag football – the non-contact format of the game that will be included in the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 (LA28) – with a focus on growing NFL Flag participation.

NFL Flag, the NFL’s official youth flag football program, was launched in Germany in 2020. Since its launch, the program has reached over 40,000 young athletes across in-school programs and the local youth league ecosystem, showcasing the league’s efforts to develop the game at every level, increasing participation and creating a social legacy that extends far beyond gameday.

“I am delighted about the extension of our contract with the NFL, which once again demonstrates the importance and strength of Munich as a sports city,” said Verena Dietl, Mayor of the City of Munich. “The previous games have not only won the hearts of fans, they have also strengthened our successful cooperation with the NFL. Together, we are committed to promoting football in Germany and spreading the palpable enthusiasm for the sport far beyond the stadiums. I am looking forward to the upcoming games in 2026 and 2028, which will deliver world-class sporting action and unforgettable excitement for the city and its fans.”

“The FC Bayern Munich Stadium will be hosting the NFL in Germany for the third time – this shows that we can also offer American football a home,” said Jürgen Muth, Managing Director of Allianz Arena GmbH. “Our stadium has established itself on the world map of sports with its modern infrastructure, unique atmosphere, and the enthusiasm of Munich fans. Over the years, the NFL at the FC Bayern Munich Stadium has evolved into a significant attraction, drawing crowds from both Germany and around the world. These games are examples of the global enthusiasm for the sport and collaboration between Munich and the NFL.”

“Germany is of huge strategic importance for the NFL in Europe, and our return to Munich signals the league’s long-term commitment to playing games in the market,” said NFL DACH General Manager Alexander Steinforth. “As the first host of regular season games in Germany, Munich holds a very special place in the hearts of our fans and we look forward to continuing to create memorable experiences for them while building a year-round NFL presence across this city and country.”

Regular season games are already confirmed to be played in Berlin in 2027 and 2029.

The NFL has confirmed the further following regular season international games to be played across the 2026 season, with additional games to be announced:

  • One game in Melbourne, Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, featuring the Los Angeles Rams as designated home team
  • One game in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil at the Maracanã Stadium

Has the Kyler Murray Era Run Its Course in Arizona?

After suffering a foot injury in the Arizona Cardinals‘ Week 5 game against the Carolina Panthers, Kyler Murray had been sidelined behind Jacoby Brissett, with the expectation he would return once fully healthy. That changed on December 5th, when Arizona General Manager Jonathan Gannon told the media that Murray would miss the remainder of the season. The announcement surprised both media members and fans, as Gannon had previously been adamant that Murray would retain the starter role. Now it’s confirmed that Brissett will finish out the season as QB1.

The Cardinals entered Kyler’s seventh year with high hopes, aiming to win the NFC West and secure a playoff berth. Those expectations were derailed early when starting running back James Conner suffered a season-ending injury just three games into the season, placing a heavy offensive burden on Murray. Under added pressure, Murray struggled to produce consistently. In the two games following Conner’s injury, he recorded two passing touchdowns and two interceptions. Shortly after the Week 5 loss to the Titans, Gannon announced that Murray would be sidelined indefinitely.

Since then, Jacoby Brissett has stepped in and reignited the offense. Operating within a different game plan than Murray, Brissett has shown versatility in the playcalling and has excelled as a pocket passer, distributing the ball to multiple receivers while allowing backup running back Trey Benson to contribute on the ground. As the weeks passed, speculation continued to grow regarding Murray’s return, especially after he was placed on IR on November 5th.

Now, with Murray officially ruled out for the season, major questions arise about the future of the Cardinals franchise—most notably whether Kyler Murray will be in an Arizona uniform next year. When asked about this, Gannon quickly dismissed the inquiry, saying, “I don’t know. I’m worried about the Rams right now, honestly…”

Kyler Murray has been with the Cardinals for seven years but unfortunately lacks the résumé that would guarantee long-term commitment from the franchise. He has produced only one winning season, which ended with a first-round playoff loss to the Rams. Combined with recurring injuries and inconsistent team success, concerns have grown—and these may ultimately be the deciding factors. Murray is under contract through 2028 with over $100 million still owed, placing the Cardinals in a difficult financial position.

The most logical path for Arizona is to trade Murray, both to clear a significant portion of dead cap space and shift his contract to another organization. However, teams around the league are well aware of the situation and will likely decline trade offers until Murray is either released or his 2026 salary is paid. One way or another, he is not expected to remain on the roster by the start of the 2026–27 season, signaling the end of the Kyler Murray era in Arizona.

The 2025 Heisman Trophy winner will be announced during the Heisman Trophy Ceremony Presented by Nissan that will air Saturday (Dec. 13) at 7 p.m. ET on ABC. Love, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., is fourth nationally in rushing yards (1,372), fifth in yards per game (114.33) and is third with 18 rushing scores. Love, who had 27 receptions for 280 yards and three touchdowns, is also fourth nationally in all-purpose yards (1,652) and second nationally with 21 touchdowns. He scored at least one touchdown in each of his final 11 games. Love’s 21 TDs surpassed Jerome Bettis’ school record for most in a regular season (1991) while his 18 rushing scores match the program’s single-season record. He rushed for over 100 yards six times, including a Notre Dame Stadium record and season-best 228 yards in a win over rival USC. He also had 171 yards on just eight carries against Syracuse to go with a career-high three rushing scores and 157 against Purdue.

Mendoza, a redshirt junior from Miami, Fla., is the 2025 Big Ten Offensive Player and Quarterback of the Year and an All-Big Ten first-team quarterback who led Indiana to a 2025 Big Ten Championship victory over Ohio State and a No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff. Mendoza, in his first year at Indiana after transferring from California, led the Hoosiers to a 13-0 record and the program’s first-ever No. 1 ranking. He completed 226-of-316 passes for 2,980 yards and a nation-leading 33 TD passes while rushing for 240 yards and another six scores. He is second nationally in total touchdowns accounted for (39) and in quarterback rating (181.39) and is sixth in completion percentage (71.5). Mendoza’s 33 TD passes are a school season record as are his five games this season with four or more scoring passes. He threw for a season-high 332 yards and four scores in a win over Michigan State. He completed better than 85% of his passes four times this year and threw at least one TD pass in each game outside of the season-opener.

Pavia, a graduate senior from Albuquerque, N.M., in his second year as a Commodore, led Vanderbilt to its first 10-win season in 2025. The 2025 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner completed 242-of-340 passes for a school-record 3,192 yards and 27 touchdowns (tied for eighth nationally) and a completion percentage of 71.2 (eighth nationally). Pavia, who also rushed for 826 yards and nine scores, is tied for fourth nationally in total touchdowns accounted for (36). He ran for over 100 yards twice, including in the season-finale win over rival Tennessee with a season-best 165 yards as well as 112 in a win over Auburn. He has rushed for 1,627 yards in his Vanderbilt career.

Sayin, a sophomore from Carlsbad, Calif., led the Buckeyes to a 12-1 record, a No. 1 ranking for most of the season, a berth in the 2025 Big Ten Championship game and a No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff. The 2025 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Sayin leads the country in QB rating (182.05), passed for 3,329 yards and his 31 TD passes are tied for second nationally. He is also first in the nation in completion percentage (78.4, on 280-of-357 passing), which includes four games completing better than 85% of his passes. Sayin threw at least one TD pass in every game this season and had just six interceptions. He passed for over 300 yards six times and passed for four TDs in a game three times. He helped end the Buckeyes’ four-game losing streak to rival Michigan with 233 yards and three scoring passes.

All four 2025 Heisman finalists are also 2025 Walter Camp finalists while Love, Mendoza and Sayin are 2025 Maxwell Award finalists. Mendoza and Sayin are finalists for the 2025 Davey O’Brien Award. Love is a finalist for the 2025 Doak Walker Award.

Love is Notre Dame’s sixth finalist and the first since Manti Te’o in 2012. Mendoza is Indiana’s second Heisman finalist and its first since Anthony Thompson in 1989. Pavia is Vanderbilt’s first finalist. Sayin is Ohio State’s 11th finalist and its seventh since 2018, including Marvin Harrison Jr. in 2023. The Buckeyes’ 11 finalists are tied for the most in the trophy’s history with Oklahoma and Alabama.

The Night the Chiefs Dynasty Crumbled

Pre Game

Heading into a chilly Sunday night in Kansas City, the Chiefs desperately needed to get back into the win column. A heartbreaking loss to the Dallas Cowboys the previous week dropped them to an even 6–6 — third in the division and outside the playoff picture. Meanwhile, the 7–5 Houston Texans arrived riding a red-hot four-game win streak. Still, the Chiefs entered as favorites and were expected to take care of business. With a lost we may see the end to one of the greatest dynasties the NFL has seen.

Expected…

First Half

After receiving the opening kick, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense went three-and-out. Houston responded with an early first down and drew a defensive penalty, but a third-down incompletion to Nico Collins ended the drive. The Texans didn’t stay quiet for long. On the first play of their next possession, C.J. Stroud hit Collins for a massive 46-yard catch-and-run, setting Houston up deep in Kansas City territory. The drive stalled, but a 35-yard field goal by Kaʻimi Fairbairn put the Texans in front 3–0.

Kansas City continued to sputter, managing only three first downs over its first three drives and crossing midfield just once. Houston capitalized, marching 90 yards on a crisp 10-play drive capped by a Willie Marks receiving touchdown to extend the lead to 10–0. Moments later, Mahomes threw an interception on the second play of the ensuing drive, adding to the Chiefs’ frustration. After finally forcing a Texans punt, Kansas City put together its first sustained drive of the game — a 12-play, 72-yard march — only for Harrison Butker to clang a field-goal attempt off the right upright. The Chiefs headed into halftime trailing 10–0.

Second Half

Whatever Andy Reid said in the locker room worked. The Chiefs opened the half with renewed energy, forcing Houston into negative yardage and a three-and-out. Mahomes then delivered his best throw of the night — a 35-yard strike to Hollywood Brown. Seven plays later, Kareem Hunt powered in a two-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to 10–7. The defense then tightened even further, forcing another three-and-out. After a pair of possessions in which both teams exchanged minimal gains, the game entered the fourth quarter tied 10–10.

But Mahomes’ turnover troubles lingered. Entering the night with seven interceptions on the season (eight after his first-half pick), he took a deep shot to Hollywood Brown on 3rd-and-6 — only for the pass to sail and be intercepted by Kamari Lassiter. Houston couldn’t convert and punted, giving Kansas City the ball at its own 22. But facing 4th-and-1 at their own 31, the Chiefs gambled and came up short. The Texans needed just six plays to cash in, with Dare Ogunbowale scoring from five yards out to put Houston up 17–10.

Then came déjà vu. Kansas City, again in its own territory and again facing fourth down, failed to convert — Mahomes’ pass to Rashee Rice was batted away. A defensive stop gave the Chiefs one last chance, but disaster struck. Backed up at their own eight on 2nd-and-10, Mahomes targeted Travis Kelce… and this happened:

The turnover put the Texans immediately in field-goal range, allowing them to ice the game and secure a 20–10 victory. Kansas City fell to 6–7, while the Texans improved to 8–5, climbing to second in their division as the Chiefs remained third.

Nevada’s Second-Half Surge Powers Win Over Washington State

Nevada found the spark it needed Sunday at Beasley Coliseum. The Wolf Pack delivered a strong second-half surge and an outsized defensive effort to secure a 78–64 win over Washington State. The first half was a tight, low-scoring battle, with both teams trading blows and the lead changing hands several times. By halftime, Nevada trailed 32–31 as neither side could create any real separation.

But the Pack stepped on the gas after the break. Fueled by improved shooting, sharper ball movement, and a renewed commitment to contesting shots, Nevada outscored the Cougars 47–32 in the second half — a decisive push that turned a knuckle-biter into a comfortable win. Guard Tayshawn Comer led the charge with a season-high 24 points, going 9-of-16 from the field and drilling 4 of 6 from three-point range, heating up right when Nevada needed it most.

Elijah Price provided a strong all-around performance, finishing with 15 points and eight rebounds while adding key defensive plays. Chuck Bailey III added 12 points and six boards, and Amire Robinson chipped in 11, giving Nevada multiple scoring options as Washington State scrambled to adjust. Defensively, the Wolf Pack clamped down in the second half. Washington State finished just 39.2% from the field and 29.2% from three — well below its usual efficiency.

Nevada’s length and activity disrupted passing lanes, challenged perimeter shots, and forced the Cougars into difficult looks at all levels. Meanwhile, the Pack shot 46.9% (15-for-32) after halftime, knocked down 7 of 10 threes, and went a perfect 10-for-10 at the line — a near-textbook display of execution that allowed them to build and maintain control. The lead swelled to 17 late, and the outcome was never truly in doubt. This win was more than just another number in the standings — it was a statement. After suffering a rough loss last season in Pullman, Nevada showed growth, toughness, and poise under pressure.

They proved capable of adjusting on the fly, feeding off momentum, and executing when it mattered. Now 7–3 on the season, the Wolf Pack return home with a roster that appears to have found a promising blend of scoring, defense, and composure as conference play approaches. If they bring the same intensity and cohesion to their upcoming games, this could become the competitive edge that separates contenders from pretenders.
