IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s soccer team will face five opponents this spring, head coach Dean Ward announced on Monday. The Hawkeyes will host two matches at the Iowa Soccer Complex, with both contests free and open to the public.
“We’re excited to compete against some outside opponents this spring,” said Ward. “These games give us an opportunity to showcase our growth, learn more about ourselves, and compete at a high level.”
Iowa’s spring slate features two teams that earned NCAA Tournament bids in 2025, highlighted by Notre Dame, which secured a No. 1 seed after posting a 14-1-3 overall record and an 8-1-1 mark in ACC play during the regular season.
The Hawkeyes open spring competition on March 28 against in-state foe Drake in Des Moines at Mediacom Stadium. The teams last met during the 2025 spring season. Iowa then travels to Muscatine, Iowa, for a neutral-site matchup against Iowa State. The Hawkeyes defeated the Cyclones, 1-0, during the 2025 regular season, marking their third straight victory in the series.
Iowa returns home to host Saint Louis and Milwaukee at the Iowa Soccer Complex. The Hawkeyes defeated Saint Louis, 3-0, last season in Iowa City. Iowa last faced Milwaukee in 2009, earning a 4-0 shutout victory.
The Hawkeyes close out the spring season on April 26, traveling to South Bend, Indiana, to face Notre Dame. The programs last met in 2019, when Iowa earned a 3-2 road victory.
