MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women’s basketball (7-3, 1-0 B1G) stunned No. 20 Michigan State (8-1, 0-1 B1G), 78–64, in the Big Ten home opener on Sunday night. The Badgers shot 47.5% (28–59) from the field, 45.8% (11–24) from deep and 68.8% (11–16) at the line. Defensively, Wisconsin held the Spartans to 38.1% (24–63) from the field, 22.7% (5–22) from three and 61.1% (11–18) at the line.
Notes to Know:
- Ronnie Porter (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Gift Uchenna (14 points, 15 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles.
- Uchenna also matched her career high with seven blocks.
- This was the Badgers’ first win over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 12 Michigan, 78–70, in the 2022–23 season.
