The AFC North is shaping up to be one of the most compelling divisions in the NFL. Known for its gritty rivalries, hard-hitting defenses, and cold-weather football, the division is stacked with playoff contenders. Here’s a closer look at the predicted outcomes for each team:

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore is entering 2025 with high expectations as they do every year. With Lamar Jackson at QB they’re projected to win the AFC North. The Ravens field a top-10 defense—anchored by a relentless front seven and elite secondary. Baltimore added veteran wideout DeAndre Hopkins to provide the team more wide receiver depth. With a strong offensive line and rushing attack, the Ravens boast one of the most complete rosters in the NFL.

Cincinnati Bengals

After a disappointing 2024 season, especially on defense, Cincinnati changed defensive coordinators.  The unresolved contract situation with star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson is still be issue going into the season. If Hendrickson doesn’t play, the defense could remain a liability. But on the offense side, they remain elite. Joe Burrow is healthy and has Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins back in the fold. It’s the best pass catching duo in the league. The offensive line has made modest improvements and they have an above average run game.  Cincinnati has the firepower to compete for a playoff spot but this season comes down to defensive improvements.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Aaron Rodgers and dynamic wide receiver DK Metcalf  are a great one-two punch mode. The defense—led by T.J. Watt and remains elite Mike Tomlin’s consistent leadership continues to be a difference-maker. Can Rodgers stay healthy and productive? Even with those uncertainties, Pittsburgh’s has history on it’s side. With average QB playoffs they remain playoff contenders. If they can win 9 games being average they should win 11 games if Rodgers delivers.

Cleveland Browns

The Browns are entering a difficult season. The offensive line struggled last year. Whoever lines up under the center will be unsettled. Linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah—one of their top defensive playmakers—will miss significant time due to injury. It’s already a rough start to the season. Head coach Kevin Stefanski will be relying on a core of young talent, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, to step up quickly. While there are promising individual pieces, the team as a whole lacks the depth and stability.
