LSU Football hosted its annual Pro Day inside the Charles McClendon Practice Facility, drawing NFL scouts, coaches, and executives from across the league. The event gave 16 Tigers the opportunity to showcase their skills through a series of measurements and workouts, all in hopes of boosting their draft stock ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Eight of the participants had already received invitations to the NFL Combine earlier this month. For the others, Pro Day was their final shot to make an impression in front of NFL personnel.

Here are four standouts from LSU’s Pro Day:

Will Campbell

Projected as a potential first-round pick, offensive lineman Will Campbell participated in only one drill at Pro Day: the re-measurement of his arms. This decision was in direct response to criticism he received at the NFL Combine, where his arms measured just 32 inches—considered short by NFL standards.

At Pro Day, however, Campbell measured in with 33-inch arms.

“For two years, nobody had any measurements on me, nobody said anything about arm length,” Campbell said. “So now all of a sudden my arm length is going to decide if I’m a good player or not? I think it’s B.S. But any decision-makers in the NFL, they don’t really care. It’s all people who don’t coach, and they don’t coach for a reason.”

Kyren Lacy

Wide receiver Kyren Lacy put together a solid showing, posting a 33.5-inch vertical jump and running a 4.60 in the 40-yard dash. He also caught passes from LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier during drills.

Lacy was once projected to be a top-50 pick before ongoing legal issues altered his trajectory. He is currently facing charges of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle following a December crash that claimed the life of 78-year-old U.S. Marine Herman Hall.

Despite the cloud surrounding his legal status, Lacy’s Pro Day performance reminded scouts of the athleticism and skill that once made him a top prospect.

Mason Taylor

Tight end Mason Taylor may have solidified his draft stock with a strong all-around performance. He ran a 4.64 40-yard dash and completed 28 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press—showcasing both speed and strength.

“When I talk to teams, I really just pride myself on being an all-around guy—an all-around player at tight end who can do whatever is asked,” Taylor said. “Whether it’s the run game or the pass game, I want to be an every-down player. I also make sure to show my character in meetings—laughing, joking around, and being myself.”

Taylor, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor and nephew of Hall of Fame linebacker Zach Thomas, brings not only a strong bloodline but also the versatility and mindset that teams value at the next level.

Josh Williams

Former LSU running back Josh Williams impressed with his explosiveness, clocking a 4.45 40-yard dash. He also posted 23 reps on the bench press and recorded a 42-inch vertical—one of the best marks of the day.

Williams’ journey is a testament to resilience. After joining the program in 2019 as a walk-on, he climbed the ranks from the scout team to becoming one of LSU’s leading rushers. Over his career, he played in 60 games, started 17, and rushed for 1,494 yards and 17 touchdowns.

“This is a dream come true. You work hard for eight weeks straight just for one day,” Williams said. “You almost put everything on that one day. It can be stressful and nerve-wracking. But to fight past that fear to get what you want—it’s worth it.”

LSU’s Pro Day served as a pivotal opportunity for both top prospects and under-the-radar players to prove themselves. With the NFL Draft approaching fast, these Tigers hope their final auditions were enough to earn a shot at the next level.
