Holtz’s Stallions had back-to-back USFL championships in 2022 and 2023. The game featured standout performances. A pivotal second-quarter touchdown by receiver Gary Jennings that set the tone for the Stallions’ dominance. Head coach Skip Holtz played a crucial role, instilling the mentality and leadership that propelled the Stallions to redemption and ultimate victory. His composure on the grand stage inspired the team throughout the season, contributing significantly to their championship journey. Adrian Martinez was named MVP of the championship game, adding to his impressive career accolades. Tom Brady presented Martinez with the award for his exceptional performance. It included 150 total yards, three touchdowns, and numerous pivotal plays that fueled the Stallions’ offense.
“It is hard to continue to win,” Holtz said after the Stallions did just that on Sunday. “You put a target on your chest, and everybody shoots for you and everybody’s circling that game and you are going to get everybody’s best effort. But as I have told the team, the only thing better than playing against the Stallions is having the opportunity to play for them and the pride that they take knowing that everybody’s going to take their best shot at us.”
