Over the past two seasons, he led the team to victory in 99 regular-season games. Despite this progress, the franchise now finds itself in search of a new head coach. They hope to find someone who can lead Cleveland deeper into the playoffs. In terms of coaching wins, Bickerstaff leaves an indelible mark on Cavaliers history. With 170 wins over five seasons, he ranks fifth among coaches in franchise history. His tenure saw him replacing John Beilein as interim coach in 2020, after which he compiled a record of 170-159 (.517).

The Cavaliers’ recent playoff journey showcased promise, with the team clinching the Eastern Conference’s fourth seed with an impressive 48-34 record. They advanced past the opening round, defeating the Orlando Magic in a grueling seven-game series. However, their playoff run was cut short by the Boston Celtics, who secured a 4-1 series victory in the conference semifinals. Notably, the Cavaliers faced challenges as Jarrett Allen and All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell were injured.

As the Cavaliers regroup and begin their search for a new coach. The franchise remains focused on building upon the progress made under Bickerstaff’s leadership. With a roster boasting promising talent, Cleveland looks to the future with optimism, aiming to establish themselves as a formidable force in the Eastern Conference for seasons to come. Does this move secure Donovan Mitchell will stay in Cleveland? There has been rumors he could be moved. But this is a solid team who could make a deep playoff run if healthy.
