Let’s evaluate the playoff runs of the eliminated NFC teams and assign grades to their performances. We have also previously ranked the playoff teams in tiers as well as rated the runs of the eliminated AFC teams.
Dallas Cowboys – F
For the third consecutive year, the Dallas Cowboys’ season ended in disappointment as they were eliminated in the Wild Card round against the seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers. Once viewed as contenders heading into the playoffs, their early departure raises significant questions about the team’s future. The Cowboys’ failure to capitalize on their talent results in an F grade for their lackluster postseason performance.

Los Angeles Rams – B
The Los Angeles Rams displayed resilience and competitiveness throughout the playoffs, despite their narrow 23-24 loss in the opening round against the Detroit Lions. With notable regular-season victories and a Super Bowl win two years prior, the Rams proved to be formidable opponents. Although they were unable to advance past the first round, their performance and competitiveness deserves a solid B grade.
Philadelphia Eagles – F
The Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff campaign was marred by underperformance, reaching its lowest point with a lackluster 9-32 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round. Despite a strong 11-1 start to the season, including victories over the Chiefs, Bills, Cowboys, and Dolphins, the Eagles struggled in the second half. The dismal conclusion to the season led to questions about coaching and team dynamics. Their disappointing postseason showing also merits an F grade.

Green Bay Packers – A+
The Packers had a season filled with highs and lows, but they displayed remarkable resilience in the playoffs. Although they fell short in a closely contested 21-24 game against the eventual NFC champions San Francisco 49ers, their playoff run exceeded expectations. The Packers demonstrated determination and skill, earning them an A+ for their playoff efforts.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – B+
The Buccaneers’ playoff journey ended on a positive note despite a 23-31 loss to Detroit in the divisional round. With promising performances from quarterback Baker Mayfield and a decisive victory over Philadelphia in the Wild Card round, the Buccaneers demonstrated their potential for the future. Their playoff journey earns them a solid B+ grade.

Detroit Lions – A
The Detroit Lions’ playoff run resembled a fairy tale for their long-suffering fan base. Bolstered by remarkable offseason moves and a talented rookie class, the Lions surpassed expectations with victories over Los Angeles and Tampa Bay in the first two rounds of the playoffs. They managed to secure themselves a spot in the NFC Championship game. Although they fell ultimately short against the 49ers with a narrow 31-34 defeat, their remarkable journey warrants a well-deserved A grade.
