In a season where consistency and excellence have been the hallmark, Davis has been a scoring machine, notching double figures in 27 out of 28 games, including a standout performance with 42 points against Miami. Additionally, he has recorded three games with 30 or more points, nine with 25 or more, and 18 with 20 or more. The accolades keep pouring in for Davis, who is not just a standout in his conference but also on the national stage. Leading the ACC in scoring with 21.7 points per game, Davis has positioned himself as a frontrunner for the National and ACC Player-of-the-Year awards, as well as considerations for first-team All-America and the Jerry West Shooting Guard Award.
Davis’s dominance extends beyond scoring; he is the only player in the nation to rank in the top 25 for scoring (6th), three-pointers per game (12th), free-throw percentage (23rd), and three-point field goal percentage (24th). Such versatility and proficiency on the court have solidified his position as one of the premier guards in college basketball. Notably, Davis is on track to break several records at UNC, including single-season marks for most three-pointers and highest three-pointers per game average. His 90 three-pointers this season, averaging 3.21 per game, placed him second in the ACC, while his free-throw percentage of 89.6% stands as the second-highest in UNC single-season history.
