From the outset, Cincinnati’s starters, featuring forwards Jillian Hayes and Malea Williams alongside guards Ta’Ziah Jenks, Reagan Jackson, and A’riel Jackson, displayed resilience and determination. Hayes and R. Jackson showcased their tenacity early on, making crucial plays in the first quarter with turnovers and rebounds. While Baylor established an early lead in the opening quarter, Williams endeavored to narrow the deficit with a three-point jumper, assisted by A. Jackson. However, Cincinnati struggled to find its rhythm, scoring only 10 points in the second quarter after a slow start.
