Keion Brooks Jr., a senior forward for the Washington Huskies, has been named the PAC-12 Player of the Week following his standout performances in a series of conference matchups. The Huskies experienced a mixed bag this week, securing a resounding 85-65 victory over the Stanford Cardinal on Wednesday but falling short in a narrow 82-80 loss to the California Golden Bears on Saturday.

In the triumph against Stanford, Brooks Jr. showcased his prowess with a 20-point contribution on 8-14 shooting, complemented by five rebounds and one assist. Despite the setback against California, Brooks Jr. maintained his stellar form, tallying 26 points on 9-19 shooting, including a 4-7 mark from beyond the arc. His performance also included four rebounds and two assists, with just two turnovers logged in 64 total minutes across both contests.
The senior forward has been on a scoring tear, notching over 20 points in three consecutive games. His recent surge follows a 23-point outing in a 67-55 road victory over Oregon State. Brooks Jr. has consistently been a force on the court, scoring in double figures in nearly every game this season and reaching the 20-point mark on 19 occasions. His season-high came in a 35-point effort against Washington State on February 3rd.

Statistically, Brooks Jr. has been instrumental for the Huskies, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. Averaging 21.2 points per game, he ranks 12th nationally in scoring, accompanied by 6.8 rebounds per game. Furthermore, his shooting percentages have seen significant improvement, boasting a 50.3% overall shooting rate, a jump from 43.3% last season. From beyond the arc, he’s shooting 38.0%, up from 28.6% last season, while maintaining a solid 78.9% from the free-throw line, consistent with his performance last season. As the Huskies aim to gain momentum heading into the PAC-12 tournament, they hold a (14-12, 6-9 PAC-12) record for the season.
