The 2023-24 National Football League season has ended, with the Kansas City Chiefs winning their second straight Super Bowls and their third in the last five years. Now it’s time for the off-season to begin. There are some important dates that the people should keep note of as we get on the road for the 2024-25 season:
February 20 th: First day Franchise Tags can be placed.
February 27 th-March 4 th : Scouting Combine.
March 5 th: Franchise Tag Deadline.
March 11 th -13 th : Free Agent Negotiation Period
March 14 th at 4p Eastern: Trades and Free Agent Signings can be made official with the league.
March 24 th -27 th : Owners Meeting.
April 1 st : 1 st year head coaches begin offseason conditioning.
April 15 th : All other teams begin offseason conditioning.
April 25 th -27 th : 2024 NFL Draft
May 3 rd -6 th or 10 th -13 th : Rookie Minicamps
July: Beginning of Training Camp
This is shaping up to be an important off-season for some franchises. The previously mentioned Chiefs will be looking for their third straight Super Bowl. The New York Jets are trying to insulate quarterback Aaron Rodgers after he injured his ankle on the fourth snap with the team, and the Chicago Bears will decide what to do with their quarterback situation: keep
incumbent Justin Fields or select clear cut number one pick Caleb Williams. The moves made during this stretch will determine how the setup of the NFL is next year and how the standings
will look.
