Q&A:
1. Why are you so interested in sports journalism?
I am interested in sports journalism because it has been a goal of mine since I was a kid. Sports has been a major part of my whole life. I, like many people, would have
loved to play in college or the pros. However, at a young age, I was realistic and knew that
wasn’t going to happen. After figuring that out, I still knew I wanted to be around sports
the rest of my life, and I got hooked on broadcasting and journalism.
2. What is your favorite sport and why?
My favorite sport is football. I have watched or played football every second of my life
that I could. It was the sport that I was best at growing up and it was the one that I feel is
the most important in America. It is a game that is a battle. Every second you are on the
field and not everyone can play the sport, you must be a warrior. It teaches you so many
life lessons that I use every day, and it is just such a special game to play, watch, and to
talk about.
3. What is your favorite sports moment?
I am a die-hard Dallas Cowboys and Texas fan so, in my short life so far, there have not been too many amazing memories for me. My favorite, though, would have to be the memory that got me hooked on the Longhorns, which would be the 2005 BCS championship game between the Texas Longhorns and the USC Trojans. Vince Young playing his last game for the Longhorns and scored the touchdown with time running out to defeat the USC team that beat them the year prior. It is just so perfect and beautiful to watch every time!
4. What is your favorite genre of music?
My favorite genre, in general, is R&B music, but I like to dip my toes in many genres. My
top-5 favorite artists right now are: J. Cole, Frank Ocean, Elton John, Noah Kahan, and
Anderson.
5. What are your favorite hobbies?
My favorite hobby is watching movies. I am a huge fan of the cinema, as I feel like I get to
escape reality and to be transported wherever the screen takes me. My favorite movies
are: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Departed, La La Land, the Lord of the Rings
trilogy, and Superbad. I also enjoy listening to podcasts like Joe Rogan and the Tim
Dillon show. Additionally, I also love to hangout with my friends and do whatever the day brings.
