Dawes emerged as the standout player of the game, posting impressive stats with 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists. The outstanding performance of freshman Isaiah Coleman was another notable aspect, as he showcased versatility by scoring 11 points and grabbing three rebounds. When questioned about Coleman’s emergence in the Pirates rotation, coach Shaheen Holloway expressed no surprise. He emphasized that Coleman is not overshadowed by more prominent names, including University of Connecticut’s Stephon Castle.

Looking ahead, coach Holloway discussed the team’s focus on getting healthy and returning to the drawing board to assess each player’s contributions as they prepare for the upcoming games. The Pirates are gearing up for a challenging matchup against the 9th-ranked Baylor on the road on Tuesday, December 5th. Coach Holloway emphasized the importance of the team’s preparation for this game. Following Baylor, the Pirates are set to face cross-state rivals Rutgers on December 9th in a significant clash known as the Garden State Rivalry. Both teams are expected to be well-prepared for an intense and competitive game.
