The all-decade teams

The 2010s in the NBA will be remembered as the decade of super-teams.

It was dominated by the Warriors and LeBron James (Miami Heat/Cleveland Cavaliers). It began with James building a super-team in Miami, followed by Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and later, Keven Durant.

As we enter the 2020’s, the Warriors’ dynasty seems to be over with KD leaving for New York. Now the league is as wide open as ever.

Even so, outside Bron and Curry, there were certainly other players throughout the decade who staked their claims among the NBA’s best. This group doesn’t have a traditional center as the game has progressed to a guard and wing/forward format.

Let’s examine the rundown:

Guard – Russell Westbrook

2010-2019 averages: 24.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.8 steals, 43.7% FG

Key accolades in the decade: One MVP, eight All-NBA selections, three straight seasons averaging a triple-double, two-time PPG leader and two-time APG leader.

Mr. Triple Double achieved this feat four, straight times while only one player in NBA history did it one season.

Guard – Steph Curry

2010-2019 averages: 23.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 47.2% FG, 41.8% 3FG.

Key accolades in the decade: Two MVPs, six All-NBA selections, three championships, NBA record 402 three-pointers in a season, one-time PPG leader

Apart from the Splash Brothers, Curry has become the greatest pure shooter in the history of the NBA.

Guard – James Harden

2010-2019 averages: 27.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 1.6 steals, 44.7% FG, 36.3% 3FG

Key accolades in the decade: one MVP, six All-NBA selections, two-time PPG leader, one-time APG leader and most PPG in a season since 1987.

“The Beard,” James Harden, has put up scoring numbers rivaling Micheal Jordan’s.

Forward – LeBron James

2010-2019 averages: 26.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 1.5 steals, 52.8% FG, 35.6% 3FG

Key accolades in the decade: three MVPs, three finals MVPs, three championships and ten All-NBA selections

“The King” is arguably the greatest athlete to ever play the game.

Forward – Kevin Durant

27.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 50.6% FG, 38.6% 3FG

Key accolades in the decade: one MVP, two finals MVPs, two championships, nine All-NBA selections and four-time PPG leader.

KD is the best offensive weapon to step foot on a basketball court. Durant has no weakness when it comes to scoring the basketball.
