Six months after they began the regular season with a record of 2-10, the Los Angeles Lakers return to the Western Conference finals thanks to a decisive victory over the NBA champions in question. In Game 6 of the second-round series, the Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors 122-101 thanks to James’ 30 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. For the seventh-seeded Lakers, who never trailed in their third home victory over Golden State in seven days, Davis had 17 points and 20 rebounds. Austin Reaves led Los Angeles in scoring with 23 points, including a 54-foot field goal at the halftime buzzer. He also had six assists and five rebounds and weathered every attempt by Stephen Curry to get the Warriors back into it.

The Lakers increased their home record to 7-0 since the end of the regular season by thrashing the Warriors one last time. Additionally, they ended Golden State’s NBA-record run that spanned Curry’s entire career of 28 playoff series with at least one victory on the road. The Warriors now enter an offseason of uncertainty.
